Chances dim for climate-change legislation - May. 30, 2008

Chances dim for climate-change legislation [this year]

Thank God this legislation appears to be DOA, at least for this year.  The details in this article pretty much describes the players and the agenda.  The tree huggers and the companies that stand to gain financially, like GE, are all for a new Carbon Tax, the economy and the consumer who is going to pay for all this, be damned.
Trying to legislate away global warming is about the most insane thing I've seen the pinheads in Congress ever attempt.  We let them screw with our clocks twice a year and it has only emboldened them to think they can legislate not just the weather, but the entire planet's temperature!  And they're basing all of this gloom and doom scenario on some highly speculative, unproven and largely discounted theories that are based on computer model they are claiming can predict the future.  Man is not changing the climate.  Sure, there are incentives that can be set to reduce air and water pollution, but those things are not the same as MAN Made Global Warming.
In addition, as the article mentions that even if they do implement a Carbon Tax, what do you think they're going to do with the money?  They'll be fighting over it like Banty hens over corn.  Earmarks in their states for parks, trees and who knows what else.  But none of it will affect the planet's overall temperature.  The solution?  They'll raise the tax.
The tree huggers and the socialists have found a niche in the armor of freedom and the free market.  And they are going to dig and dig and dig relentlessly until they either win or they are stopped.  But who is going to stop them?  Certainly not Obama. Not Clinton. Not even McCain. He's in the tank for MMGW as much as the rest of them.
it's going to be a long, long century...
THIS is what we're passing on to our children and grandchildren.
