Freedom, not climate, is at risk

Freedom, not climate, is at risk

"As someone who lived under communism for most of his life,
I feel obliged to say that I see the biggest threat to freedom,
democracy, the market economy and prosperity now in ambitious
environmentalism, not in communism."
There are two kinds of people in the political arena: Freedom Lovers and Control Freaks.  Freedom Lovers are Conservatives, Republicans (real Republicans, not most of the namby pamby RINO potato heads in Congress today).  Freedom Lovers want to just live their lives.  They don't want to constantly fight the unending political battle for control.   Control Freaks are the Liberals, Democrats.  Control Freaks think everything would be just fine if everyone would just do what they say, their way.  They are relentless in their pursuit.  Because of this, unfortunately, it's often the Control Freaks who migrate to political office.
It's very telling that someone who lived their life under communist control and who is now free, really sees what freedom is.  Many Americans have lost the perspective of what freedom is.  They think they can vote for cradle-to-grave government support, more government-funded services and yet still have their freedom.  But once such socialist and communist ideologies take over, freedom will be gone.
It's ironic that the Left who loudly complain about how George W. Bush has curtailed our Constitutional freedom through the Patriot Act and wiretapping policies against suspected terrorists, have no problem with massive Global Government control when it comes to environmental policy.  Is it government they fear, or just George Bush?
