The DemocRATS(CBS) bag of Dirty Tricks

Oh, Danny boy. We ye never learn?

This CBS "story" that the Bush Administration might be secretly planning to reinstate the draft is another one of those totally bogus, trumped up schemes from the DemocRAT's bag of DIRTY TRICKS (look for more to come in the next 5 weeks).

CBS News | The Issues: Reviving The Draft | September 29, 2004

While the piece doesn't come right out and say so, it leaves you with the strong implication that there's conspiracy afoot. Perhaps, just perhaps. And so the seed of doubt is planted in the minds of a few more precious voters.

It's late in the campaign season and their horse is fading fast. They've got to pull out all the stops to try to scare anyone and everyone they can to pull their vote back Kerry's way. What better target than the gullible soccer moms? They see their traditional base turning from soccer moms into security moms that support the War on Terrorists and they're going apeshit trying to figure out how to get them back.

And CBS, despite its recent black eye from the fake 'Bush Papers' debacle, is only too willing to step up to the plate and run a Michael Moore-esque conspiracy story like this. It's so pathetic it just makes you want to shoot something. Hey, come to think of it I can go buy up all the "assault weapons" I want now. Nah. I wouldn't waste the ammo. Spreading the truth and shining the light of day on their dirty little tricks is much more fun!

Rathergate.com: CBS Does It Again: Network Uses Phony Documents to Promote Draft Conspiracy

"Like before with Rather on the Bush story, the CBS reporter not only engaged in sloppy journalism and innuendo based on false facts, the story lacked context that a reasonable person can only assume was purposeful and meant to harm President Bush."

On a related note, on Wednesday (9/29) the Kerry campaign announced with great fanfare that the "Reverend" Jesse Jackson has joined their ranks to shore up their slipping numbers in the black community. Apparently black Americans are able to read after all (Jesse would have you believe that Whitey still has his foot on the blacks' collective throats, thus keeping them 'disenfranchised' from the political process. I'd love to see Jesse in a debate and have someone ax him if he knows what disenfranchised really means.). Polls show that only 73% of blacks support Kerry. That sounds like a lot, until you find out that Algore had 90% of the black vote in 2000!

9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America

You won't read or hear about these folks in the big media. While the media were quick to trot out 5 9/11 widows across every form of the 'mainstream' media who supported Kerry, there's been nary a word on these 150+ individuals who lost loved ones on 9/11.

Why? Because they support President Bush. They support the War on Terrorism, on all fronts. Of course we all know there's no left-bias in the media so it must be just because they're having a really busy week, what with all the damage control and all.

9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America

From BlogsforBush.com:

Have You Forgotten? I Haven't.

Written by guest blogger Tim Sumner, cofounder of 9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America.

I haven't forgotten the more than 3,000 people, including my brother-in-law, who were murdered on 9/11 in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard those four airplanes.

I haven't forgotten the 19 terrorists, their networks, and their sponsors who committed those murders. Nor have I forgotten those who met with terrorists, gave them asylum, and provided them with a safe haven where they could plot and train.

Since August, nearly 150 9/11 family members have cosigned an open letter to America. If you visit our website, you'll see our names and why we strongly support President Bush’s reelection. You'll also see a note From a Soldier at the pointy end of the sword on how he views the War against Terror and a Lest We Forget page with a true story that honors both the known and unknown heroes of 9/11. On our Troop Talk page you'll get the news and views you seldom see in your local paper and find some friends on our Links page. And you'll find out how other 9/11 family members can add their names to our open letter and also a place where every American can say they stand with President Bush and why they do.

We alerted the mainstream media weeks ago... yet they haven't gotten around to reporting on us yet. That's strange considering two weeks later they did manage to report that five 9/11 widows had endorsed John Kerry for president.

After their press conference, Kerry's people passed out a press releases declaring that “9/11 Families Endorse John Kerry for President” and announced that the widows might be used in television ads in swing states.

Perhaps bloggers for Bush will do what the mainstream news anchors, the disingenuous filmmakers, and all those that appear to print only the “news” that fits their views won’t do: tell America the rest of the news.

I haven't forgotten and neither have you.

Rudy Giuliani Unveils John Kerry's Debate Briefing Book

SPRING GREEN, WI -- Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani visited Spring Green, Wisconsin today where he unveiled the “Debate Briefing Book for Senator Kerry” (as prepared by Bush-Cheney '04) and issued the following statement.

"Senator Kerry has taken so many different positions on the issues facing the country that we thought he would benefit from the overview of the most interesting debate -- the one John Kerry is having with himself. He's been for the war, against the war and for it and against it again. Last week, he became an anti-war candidate again. This is a fatal flaw and the American people see through it. John Kerry is not able to take a principled position and is the wrong choice to guide America through this critical time."

Wictory Wednesday

In Alaska, incumbent Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski is locked in a tight race with former Democrat Governor Tony Knowles. The race is tight only because Knowles claims to be a "moderate." You know what that means, don't you? If he gets to the Senate, he'll raise your taxes, cut defense spending, block President Bush's judicial nominations, hug Michael Moore, and run for re-election every 6 years as a "moderate."

Don't let this happen! We don't need one more "moderate" Democrat in the US Senate for the next 30 years. You can help Murkowski by donating to her campaign today.

Today is Wictory Wednesday. Every Wednesday, hundreds of bloggers ask their readers to donate to an important Republican Senate campaign.

If you're a blogger, you can join Wictory Wednesdays by e-mailing wictory@blogsforbush.com. He'll add you to the Wictory Wednesday blogroll. He'll also send you a reminder e-mail every Wednesday, explaining which Senate candidate to support that day.

THE 1997 SPEECH THAT DAMNS JOHN KERRY

"So is it plausible for John Kerry to have believed in 1997 that Saddam was a grave threat requiring the use of significant, preemptive, and unilateral military force but to now - more than five years later and in a post-9/11 world - stand before us and argue the opposite? It is not."

John Kerry to Vietnam: 'Send Me'?

Turns out Kerry may just be PO'd because he's jealous of Bush and Cheney. He wasn't as smart as they were.

Kerry joined the Reserves too at first, AFTER unsuccessfully trying to snag a student deferment so he could go play in Paris for a year.

Since the request for a deferment was denied, "John Kerry's service record indicates that on February 18, 1966, he enlisted in the United States Naval Reserves, status 'inactive,' not in the U.S. Navy. These details are conveniently left out of all pro-Kerry biographies. Douglas Brinkley records that Kerry entered Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island; however, again he fails to note that Kerry was seeking to be an officer of the U.S. Naval Reserves."

Larry Elder: John Kerry to Vietnam: 'Send Me'?

It's obvious that Bush was able to pull what was likely a much safer and cushier spot in the National Guard. So what? So did tens of thousands of others. It's old news. Fact is, he still fulfilled the requirements, albeit close to the minimum at times, but overall he was in the service longer than Kerry was, from signup to discharge. (Kerry got out 6 months early too.)

Bush/Kerry military service Timeline (Note how CBS news denotes John Kerry's service as his "Naval career" and Bush's as "Bush's Guard service")

The difference is, Bush never claimed to be a war hero.
Bush has not denigrated Kerry for his service. In fact, he has commended him for it.
Bush did not bring Vietnam up. Kerry did.

Kerry was only in Vietnam for 4 months. He's ached for years to be able to use the 'heroism' angle in his political career. Poor guy, he just doesn't realize that the paint has already dried on that period and nobody's really impressed with it. ESPECIALLY when it come to light that he's had to embellish the hell out of it to even make it usable fodder.

Bush's record has been pretty fully addressed by now. I don't see any damning information in those notes even if they are legit, which I highly doubt. Everyone already knows Bush let his pilot requirements lapse near the end. They had "a glut of pilots" by then. But it's fun watching Dan Blather dig his own spider hole!

Bush's National Guard years: Before you fall for Dems' spin, here are the facts

Give it up, John. If not, why don't we talk about your running mate's military record (or the lack thereof).

Who Is John Kerry?
Who Is John Edwards?

By the way, with all this talk about Vietnam and "quagmires", do you recall that it was a Democrat that got us into Vietnam? It was a Democrat that kept us there way too long, mostly for political reasons, costing tens of thousands of lives? (All with the full force and support of a long-time-Democrat-led Congress). But it was a Republican who got us out of Vietnam?

How soon they forget.

That's my thought,
Larry

Fear over 'assault weapons' was just hype

Happy Birthday to me. On Tuesday, September 14, 2004 America will take one step back toward its Constitutionally guaranteed freedom of the People's right "to keep and brear arms". Yay!

The so called "assualt weapons ban" was illegal to start with. It clearly violated the Second Amendment. But worse, it served no purpose other than to make people feel good. The reality is the ban didn't ban anything of significance. It only banned certain cosmetic features of some semi-automatic weapons, and some clip sizes. Big whoop. I can pop off a 6 round clip in my .45 semi-automatic pistol, drop the clip, insert a full clip in about 2 seconds and keep popping. So how are you more safe because 10 round clips were banned?

I don't own any "assualt weapons" myself. I don't even plan to run out on Tuesday and buy up a bunch of them. But that's not the issue.

Some law-abiding Americans do own them. Some will go buy them. And it's their right to do so. True, some law-BREAKING Americans own them too. And some law-BREAKING Americans will try to buy them as well. Law-makers need to make the distinction between law-ABIDING Americans and law-BREAKING Americans. Law-making 101: Laws should be directed at law-BREAKING Americans, not law-ABIDING Americans.

Memo to Sarah Brady, et al: The law-BREAKING Americans owned them the whole time this ban was in effect. Dare I say it? The law didn't work on them! (Isn't it ironic that the weapon John Hinckley used against President Reagan and James Brady was a .22 revolver, a weapon not even remotely affected by this 'assault weapon' ban?)

People who commit crimes against other people or property should be hunted down, arrested, charged, tried, convicted and sentenced in short, sweet order. The sentence should fit the crime. You kill? You die. You tried to kill or rob? You stay your ass in jail for the rest of your life.

What is so complicated about this that Congress (or government at any level) can't get it? They can't all be that stupid or simple (can they?). So there must be something else going on for them to pass such stupid, ineffective laws (it's not like it's the only stupid, ineffective law they've ever passed).

I can only conclude that it's just smoke and mirrors to appease the gullible public into thinking they are earning their keep. It's hard for me to believe that most Americans are ignorant of the daily news, especially the daily antics of Congress, but maybe they've discovered it's true. Most Americans are oblivious to it. So they know they can get away with just about anything. They only have to appease a small portion of the public, those 'special interest groups' (and those who can read) in order to keep those checks coming in.

As Lott says in the article below, take a look in a year and you'll see that all the hype is much ado about nothing.

But one thing is for sure. We are not going to "uninvent guns", especially by legislation. Of course that won't stop the gun banners from trying. So you Americans who value your freedom, and who value the concepts that this great country was founded on, had better become a little more vigilant and maybe even a little more active in keeping these stupid legislators from passing more stupid laws.

The real of the proliferation of assualt weapons is within the Federal government itself. Everybody is building their own assault-style SWAT teams, including the National Park Service!

totse.com | Armed and Dangerous: Federal Agencies Expanding Use of Firepower

Many of the libs fully trust government agencies and the police to possess and use these weapons against the 'bad guy' (although they see everyone not with them as the 'bad guy') to keep them 'safe'.

Frankly, I've read the story of Ruby Ridge and watched the horror unfold at Waco and I'm not all that thrilled at having some 60,000 federal gun nuts running around whooping it up either.

That's my thought,
Larry

More on "FahrenHYPE 9/11"

You laughed! You cried! You wanted to poke him in the eye!
(Bush or Moore, that is)

Michael Moore has duped a large chunk of the American public, again. Why not? After all, he called Americans "possibly the dumbest people on the planet". His movie is a huge commercial success. But is it a documentary or just partisan propaganda? You decide.

Documentary : [n] a film or TV program presenting the facts about a person or event
[adj] relating to or consisting of or derived from documents

Propaganda: [n] 2: the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor
for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person
3 : ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately
to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause;
also : a public action having such an effect

After seeing Moore in action in "Bowling for Columbine" I was in no hurry to rush to see his latest creation. Several of my friends did, as well as millions of other Americans. But as the critiques and reviews started coming in I knew he was just up to his same tricks again. I hope everyone who saw or will see Moore's movie will read this rebuttal and even get the DVD when it comes out.

This is by far the most comprehensive and compelling rebuttal to the propaganda flick "Fahrenheit 9/11" I've seen. Author Dave Kopel (a Democrat, by the way) describes with great detail and well sourced references "Fifty-nine Deceits in Fahrenheit 9/11" It's also coming out on DVD October 5th.

If you saw Moore's movie, you should read this. If you haven't seen the movie, read this first then when you watch the movie you'll be able to play along and spot all the subtle -- or sometimes not so subtle -- deceits, tricks, half-truths, conspiracy theories and outright lies.

As Kopel says (I'm paraphrasing here), Moore has a slick way of kinda sorta telling the truth sometimes, but more often than not he's got a very slick way of tricking his audience into thinking they were just told a fact, when in fact he created a scene or doctored a quote to make his point, and in fact, it is not a fact at all.

Say what you will about the war or about Bush. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But the kind of tripe Moore puts out is wrong. It's based on emotion and his own ideology, not fact. He hates Bush. He hates Americans. He even hates America. And every moment of his movie shows it.

In any case it's very interesting reading.

http://www.davekopel.org/Terror/Fiftysix-Deceits-in-Fahrenheit-911.htm

By the way, I did see the movie. I downloaded it. ;-) I wouldn't contribute a nickel to Moore to see it in a theater. If you want a copy let me know and I'll burn ya one.

Larry

Here's a little more bedtime reading if you're interested. This list is from Rush's page. I copied it here in case it goes away. I'll bet Moore wishes it would go away.

Kerry is a phony! Touts gun he seeks to ban!

This guy Kerry is such a phony. Virtually everything he says is a lie of one sort or another. He's the one who dredged up the Vietnam issues, claiming to be a war hero. He was no hero. He showed up. So what. So did thousands of others.

Now he's sporting a gun he received as a gift that fits the description of the bill he co-sponsored to ban such guns.

His photo-op is supposed to make Americans think he's a good ol' Joe and friend of the average gun owner. Bull$#%^!!

He and his liberal crowd in Congress are supporting the so-called 'Assault Weapons' Ban. But anyone with two or more functioning brain cells knows it's just a smoke screen to crack the surface and eventually ban all guns. They will 'common sense' us to death, step-by-step, until they have eliminated private ownership of guns altogether.

Make no mistake. You can't support partial freedom of the Second Amendment. Either you support it or you don't. There is no in-between. To paraphrase the words of Volitaire, "I may disagree with your need to own a semi-automatic gun, but I will defend to the death your right to own it."

The Second Amendment doesn't split hairs. It says 'Government, keep your mitts off.'

Stop and think for one minute. Who is it that wants to ban guns? The socialists. The elitists. Dare I say it, the Communists. They think they know what's good for you more than you do. They want to control you. They want to control every aspect of your life.

But they can't control everyone until they can disarm everyone, because, thankfully there are some people out there that won't take the crap they're trying to dish out forever.

Whether you agree with ownership of certain types guns or not, you have to look at the bigger picture and understand the purpose of government. Its purpose is to control you. The Founding Fathers knew that. But they also knew that the States needed a national government to oversee disputes between the States and keep an eye outward for foreign enemies. So they created a Federal government. BUT they did everything they could to keep the ultimate power in the hands of The People, not the government.

Government performs some necessary tasks, no doubt. But government is not your friend. It is not your keeper and you should never allow them to assume all aspects of your care and survival because if you do you, even by a small amount, you will be sacrificing freedoms for your children later on.

Freedom now. Freedom forever.

KERRY COSPONSORED BILL BANNING GUN HE WAVES

Was Dem presidential hopeful John Kerry seen this weekend waving a gun which would have been banned if legislation he co-sponsored became law?

Kerry co-sponsored S. 1431 last year (“The Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2003) which would have banned a "semiautomatic shotgun that has a pistol grip.”

Opponents of the bill successfully argued how nearly all guns have "pistol grips," inluding millions of Browning Auto-5 shotguns produced since 1903.

Photos show Kerry's hand resting on the "pistol grip," as loosely defined in the bill. [Section SEC. 2; (H) (ii) and (b)(42): "The term 'pistol grip' means a grip, a thumbhole stock, or any other characteristic that can function as a grip."]

Kerry was presented with the semiautomatic shotgun during a Labor Day stop in Racine, West Virginia.

"I thank you for the gift, but I can't take it to the debate with me," Kerry told a cheering crowd as he held up the device.

But Kerry's gun bill would have also banned any "gift" transaction!

[It is not clear if Kerry completed the required paperwork (Form 4473) before he claimed the gun.]
